About Laura
Laura Hoge, LCSW, LCADC, RSW is a Clinical Social Worker based in both Vancouver and New Jersey, with a practice that centers on supporting fellow helping professionals—therapists, physicians, social workers, educators, and advocates—who are navigating the emotional and psychological complexities that come with their roles. Many of the professionals Laura works with are deeply committed to service, but find themselves feeling disconnected from their own sense of authenticity, purpose, or capacity for joy. This disconnection often affects their relationships, creativity, and long-term sustainability in the work they love.
Laura offers a collaborative and compassionate space for reflection and re-alignment. She believes that even when clients feel uncertain or overwhelmed, they carry the innate wisdom needed for healing and growth. Her role is to walk alongside them as a trusted partner, guiding them back to themselves. Rooted in a mind-body framework, her approach recognizes the ways in which stress, vicarious trauma, and generational narratives are held in the body. Therapy becomes a process of liberation—not only from personal wounds, but also from the internalized expectations of professional cultures, systems of oppression, and societal norms.
In addition to her clinical work, Laura is an educator, consultant, and advocate. She has taught future social workers and substance use counselors at Rutgers University and Montclair State University, and is a certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist as well as a past member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), with a strong grounding in somatic approaches to trauma healing.
Laura is deeply engaged in systems-level change and anti-oppression work. She has held leadership roles in initiatives such as the Hunterdon County Anti-Racism Coalition (HC-ARC) and the Social Work Coalition of Anti-Racist Educators (SWCAREs). She is especially passionate about advocacy efforts related to equitable healthcare and education for transgender and gender-diverse youth.
For Laura, continued learning and collective care are essential components of sustainable activism and ethical professional practice. She sees her work not just as therapy, but as part of a broader movement toward justice, integrity, and collective liberation.

Message to Clients
Engaging in the therapeutic process is a radical act of self liberation. We all deserve to be free and to feel peace in our minds and bodies. My process is collaborative, compassionate, and works towards integrating the often conflicting parts of self into a shared goal of living well.

Consultation Requests
In order to get a feel for the therapeutic relationship, 10-15 minute consultations are highly recommended. These take place in Laura’s confidential teletherapy office, or over the phone if that is more comfortable.
